WHICH CITIES ARE PAKISTANIS SEARCHING ONLINE?

The city of lights, Karachi, is the most-searched-for Pakistani city according to a new report by Following it closely are Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad.

Karachi’s status as the most-searched-for city on Lamudi’s real estate portal points to increasing investor confidence in the metropolitan center. Moreover, the city’s improved security situation has given a boost to the property sector.

Karachi has had a stellar performance in the first ten months of 2015. Law and order agencies are eliminating the Qabza mafia from the city, and people are now regaining possession of their properties.

All this has resulted in an increase in property values in Karachi, especially its posh areas such as DHA, Clifton and DHA City. If the operation continues successfully, then the new developments are expected to increase two to threefold in the future.

Saad Arshed, Country Director of Lamudi Pakistan, commented, “The immense volume of searches on our website for Karachi supports the argument that the city is a prime investment destination. The argument is also supported by the city’s increased Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). More and more overseas Pakistanis are investing in their homeland.”

The property markets of Lahore and Islamabad, in the second and third positions, have been performing strongly this year as well, as evidenced by increased searches on Lamudi.pk.
